My manager role is remote, but I manage a team abroad. Can I qualify for EB-1C?

The EB-1C is the green card pathway for multinational executives and managers transferred within the same corporate group to work in the United States. The key factor is not where you physically sit to do your work, but whether you genuinely held an executive or managerial role at a qualifying foreign entity (parent, subsidiary, or affiliate) related to the U.S. petitioning company.

Working remotely does not automatically disqualify you, but it often makes the case harder to prove. What the process evaluates is the substance of your position:

• Whether you direct the organization, a division, or a key function within it.
• Whether you supervise personnel, projects, or operations with decision-making authority.
• Whether a corporate structure and a reporting hierarchy exist to support that role.
