How detailed should my employment history be?

In the EB-2 NIW, your employment history should be detailed enough for the adjudicator to understand your career path without gaps. The goal is not to accumulate pages, but to clearly show each stage of your career and how it supports the merit and importance of your work.

For each position, it is worth recording the job title, main responsibilities, and period of employment, in a way that is consistent with the rest of the petition. What tends to strengthen the narrative is linking each role to the concrete contributions you made, rather than simply listing tasks.

• Describe the title, responsibilities, and period for each experience.
• Highlight projects, results, and relevant contributions from each role.
• Explain career transitions or gaps, ensuring transparency.

Since each petition is evaluated on a case-by-case basis, it is worth checking the updated guidelines from USCIS and, if possible, reviewing your documentation with a specialist to ensure it conveys coherence and credibility.
