My title is ‘sales coordinator’ and I manage 7 salespeople. Am I a ‘manager’?

Possibly, but the title alone does not decide. In EB-1 (and especially in the EB-1C category, designed for executives and managers), what characterizes a ‘manager’ role is not the job title, but the authority and responsibility you actually exercise.

Coordinating a sales team can indeed constitute a managerial role, particularly when it involves more than day-to-day supervision. Some signals that weigh in your favor:

• Participation in strategic planning and process oversight.
• Authority over the team, including personnel decisions.
• Accountability for the results of a part of the organization.

If your role is primarily operational, with limited decision-making autonomy, it may be harder to frame it as managerial. What matters is the real description of your duties, not the label on your title.
