Is EB-1 viable if I am a sub-manager with 10 subordinates?

It depends far less on the number of subordinates and far more on the nature of the role. EB-1 covers different categories, and the one that applies to executives and managers of multinational companies is EB-1C, which focuses on high-level management functions rather than on a specific title.

Having a team under your supervision helps build the case, but on its own it does not determine anything. What tends to carry weight is the type of authority you exercised: strategic decisions, control over significant areas of the company, autonomy over people and resources, and real impact on the direction of the business.

As a sub-manager, the key is to demonstrate that your role carried that level of weight. It is worth looking at:

• The scope of your decisions and how autonomous they were.
• The departments, budgets, or operations under your responsibility.
• How your role shaped strategy, not just day-to-day operations.

In other words, the position can be viable if the functions you performed demonstrate high-level management. Since each case is evaluated individually, confirm the current criteria for EB-1C with USCIS or a specialist.
