Small, predominantly white, and young community
Chubbuck's population is majority white, with a growing Hispanic presence and a smaller number of Southeast Asian families connected to Idaho State University in neighboring Pocatello.
The city is small, with just over 17,000 residents according to the most recent census, and has grown steadily over the past two decades driven by young families leaving Pocatello in search of larger homes and well-rated schools. The median age is close to 30 years, below Idaho's average.
The ethnic profile is predominantly white, with a Hispanic presence of around 10 percent, primarily of Mexican origin, and small communities of Filipinos, Indians, and Pacific Islanders connected to healthcare professionals and students at Idaho State University across the border.
The dominant religion is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, present in nearly every neighborhood with its own chapels. There are also Baptist, Catholic, Lutheran, and smaller evangelical congregations, as well as a discrete Muslim community connected to the neighboring university.
