Can I receive awards after submitting the petition?

You can continue receiving awards normally, but it is important to understand how they factor into the O-1 process. The petition is evaluated based on the evidence that was presented as of the submission date. An award earned after the filing date generally cannot be used to support the original petition, because adjudicators review what was available at the time of filing.

This does not mean the new recognition loses its value. Awards received after submission can be used at a later stage, for example in extension or renewal requests, as evidence that your record of excellence continues to grow in your field.
