In practice, this means demonstrating that you have authority to make meaningful decisions, direct the strategy of a significant part of the business, and oversee teams, projects, or essential functions. A hollowed-out management title with no corresponding responsibilities or decision-making power will rarely support this type of transfer.

The same reasoning applies to executive positions and to specialized knowledge: what matters is the substance of the role, backed by consistent documentation describing duties, direct reports, decision-making scope, and place within the organizational structure.
