I held an ‘Area Manager’ role at 2 different branches. Does it count for EB-1C?

It may count, but it depends on the actual content of the role, not the title. EB-1C is designed for managers and executives who worked for a company abroad and are being transferred to an equivalent position at a related U.S. entity (parent, branch, subsidiary, or affiliate).

Having been an ‘Area Manager’ at two branches can qualify, as long as your duties were genuinely managerial or executive in nature. The officer does not evaluate the job title — what matters is the substance of the role:

• Strategic decision-making, not just operational supervision.
• Management of a relevant area, department, or function within the company.
• Authority over people, budgets, or business directives.

You must also have performed those managerial or executive duties abroad for a qualifying period within a recent window before filing. To support this, detailed job descriptions, organizational charts, and evidence of your results carry significant weight.

Because every organizational structure is different and the analysis is case by case, it is worth confirming the current requirements with USCIS or with a specialist before filing a petition.
