I held a ‘leading or critical role’ at 3 companies: does that count as 3 in the EB-1?

Having held a leading or critical role at three companies can certainly strengthen your EB-1 petition, but it does not work as a simple multiplication: holding that type of role in three places does not automatically translate into three separate points in your favor.

This type of role is a category of evidence, and what makes it strong is not the number of positions, but what you actually accomplished in each one. The evaluation looks at factors such as:

• The real relevance of your role within the organization.
• The concrete impact your work generated.
• How those functions contributed to the company and to the field.

In other words, accumulating similar titles does not replace the demonstration of results. Well-documented roles with clear evidence of leadership and impact (testimonials, recognitions, concrete results described qualitatively) tend to carry more weight than a list of positions without supporting proof.

Because the way evidence is evaluated and combined varies from case to case, the best approach is to confirm the current requirements with the official source (USCIS) or review your profile with a specialist before filing.
