I have exhibited artwork at national fairs. No awards. Can I qualify for EB-1A?

Exhibiting works at national fairs is evidence that counts, but on its own it rarely sustains an EB-1A petition. This category is reserved for those at the very top of their field, and in the arts that standing typically emerges from a combination of several recognition signals, not from a single item.

The good news is that no single piece of evidence is mandatory: the absence of awards does not sink your case if other strong proof of distinction is present. The review is holistic, and what matters is the overall picture.

• Published critiques or features about your work.
• Participation as a judge or reviewer in your field.
• National or international recognition and exhibitions of significance.
• Original contributions that have influenced the artistic field.

In other words, the fairs count as one piece of the puzzle, and other achievements can offset the lack of awards. Since each case is evaluated individually, it is worth verifying the updated requirements at the official source (USCIS) and building your file with a specialist before filing.
