It may be possible, but it depends on the substance of your role. The EB-1C was designed to transfer executives and managers of multinational companies to a branch, subsidiary, or affiliate in the United States, and it presupposes recent managerial or executive experience abroad, along with an offer for an equivalent position in the U.S.

Being an IT team manager neither guarantees nor precludes qualification on its own: what matters is the nature of your responsibilities. If you supervise teams, make strategic decisions, and are accountable for a meaningful function within the company, the role may carry a managerial or executive character for EB-1C purposes.

  • Demonstrated managerial or executive role abroad within a recent qualifying period.
  • Clear corporate relationship between the foreign employer and the U.S. entity.
  • A U.S. position with equivalent responsibility and authority.

Because eligibility depends on the specifics of your background and your company’s structure, it is worth gathering documentation and verifying the current requirements with USCIS or a specialist before filing.
