The EB-1B visa is intended for internationally recognized professors and researchers. To demonstrate this excellence, the applicant needs to meet at least two of the six criteria established by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). Below, I present the six criteria that can be used to compose the set of evidence:

1. Significant awards or prizes – Proof of receipt of significant awards in recognition of relevant contributions in the academic field.
2. Membership in organizations requiring excellence – Being a member of associations that demand notable achievements and whose acceptance criteria are based on national or international recognition of excellence.
3. Publications about the work – Production of published material in journals, magazines, and other specialized publications where third parties write about the applicant’s contributions and their relevance to the field.
4. Acting as a reviewer – Participation, individually or as part of panels, as a judge or evaluator of the work of other professionals in the same or related areas.
5. Original contributions of major impact – Demonstration that the applicant’s work brought innovative and significant contributions to the scientific, academic, or artistic development of the respective area.
6. Relevant academic production – Authorship of scientific books, articles, or other works of academic scope periodically published and with international circulation.

Each of these criteria seeks to attest to the quality and impact of the professional’s work on the international stage. It is essential to gather all documentation that proves these points to strengthen the EB-1B visa petition.

It is important to highlight that, when building a case, one must strictly follow the United States immigration laws and always seek updated information, as the rules may undergo revisions. Furthermore, caution is recommended regarding promises of quick or guaranteed results in marketing campaigns.

The immigration process is complex and requires a detailed and genuine approach to demonstrate the required excellence.

Remember that, although these guidelines may help understand what is expected for qualification under the EB-1B visa, each situation has its particularities and compliance with the requirements may vary depending on the profile and documentation presented. Therefore, inform yourself properly and consult official sources to ensure that all rules are being correctly followed.
