Majority-Latino city, with a growing African American and Asian presence
Sunrise Manor is one of the most Hispanic CDPs in the valley, with more than 40% Hispanic residents. Non-Hispanic whites are a relative minority, and African American and Asian communities are present.
The composition is clearly diverse: Hispanics form the largest share, including Mexicans, Salvadorans, Guatemalans, Hondurans, and Cubans. Non-Hispanic whites are a relative minority. African Americans have a historical presence, and the Asian community (Filipinos, Vietnamese) is growing in certain segments.
Spanish is as common as English in commerce. Markets such as Cardenas Markets and El Super, Mexican lunch counters, and Salvadoran pupuserias dominate corridors like Lake Mead Boulevard and Boulder Highway. Churches conducting services in Spanish, Portuguese, and Tagalog serve immigrant families.
Religious life follows a pattern typical of urban Latino communities: Roman Catholics predominate, alongside Hispanic Pentecostal evangelicals, Baptists, African American congregations, and Mormons. Brazilians represent a smaller share than the Hispanic population, with a presence in evangelical churches and in hospitality and beauty businesses.
