The O-1A recognizes extraordinary individual ability in fields such as sciences, education, business, and athletics. It is designed to assess the trajectory and achievements of each person, not to group an entire team under a single collective petition.

For an e-sports team, this means there is no such thing as a team O-1A. Each player is evaluated individually and must gather their own evidence showing they stand out and are recognized in their field at the national or international level.

  • Significant awards and results in major competitions.
  • Recognition from respected organizations or outlets in the industry.
  • A prominent role and demonstrable individual contributions.

In other words, an entire roster may well qualify, but each member must file their own petition with their own documentation. Trying to submit the group as a block, without demonstrating each person’s individual merit, does not fit the visa format. It is worth building each file carefully and checking the latest requirements through the official source (USCIS) or with a qualified specialist.
