Are some fields easier for the O-1?

There is no field that is, by nature, easier for the O-1 visa. It is designed for individuals with extraordinary ability in areas such as the arts, sciences, education, business, or athletics, and each petition is evaluated individually based on the strength of the evidence presented.

Some industries, such as entertainment and the arts, tend to have greater public visibility, which can make it easier to gather proof of recognition, such as press coverage and well-known awards. That does not mean the process is less demanding: the evidentiary standard remains high.

More technical or academic fields sometimes require more detailed documentation to demonstrate relevance, but they have their own forms of proof, such as publications, citations, and high-impact projects. What changes is the nature of the evidence, not the rigor of the review.
