The IR1 visa is intended for spouses of U.S. citizens or permanent residents, allowing the beneficiary to enter the country as a legal resident. One of the essential documents in this process is the marriage certificate, which proves the validity of the marriage and the ongoing relationship between the spouses.

Regarding the American consulate, it is not necessary to ”register” the marriage directly with it. What is required is that you present the marriage certificate issued by the competent authority of the country where the marriage took place. This certificate must be properly authenticated, and in many cases, it may need to be translated into English by a sworn translator and, depending on the country, apostilled or legalized.

It is essential to follow all the laws and guidelines of the U.S. Department of State and the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). To ensure that you gather all the required documentation without jeopardizing your process, it is always recommended to consult official sources and seek advice from professionals or companies specialized in immigration – however, remember to be cautious about promises of guaranteed results or campaigns offering miracle solutions.

The legality and authenticity of the documents presented are crucial to avoid setbacks or possible future complications. If well prepared and with the correct documentation, the IR1 visa application process can proceed more smoothly. Always maintain a careful attitude, respecting immigration rules and verifying the authenticity of the information and assistance you receive throughout the process.
