The IR1 visa is granted to spouses of American citizens when the union has lasted more than two years at the time the visa is issued. For this reason, the permanent resident status granted under the IR1 already includes the benefit of unconditional permanent residence, unlike the CR1 visa, which is issued for marriages under two years and requires condition removal after a certain period.

This means that, after entering the United States with the IR1, you do not need to worry about removing conditions, since the status granted is unconditional. It is important to remember that the process of adjusting visa status to permanent resident status only demands attention when the visa is granted conditionally, as in the case of the CR1.

In the case of the IR1, once admitted as a permanent resident, you have the same rights and duties as any other holder of this status. I would also like to emphasize the importance of staying updated with United States immigration laws and regulations, as following what is established is fundamental to avoid future problems.

Seeking information from official sources, such as the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) website, and avoiding offers that promise miraculous results or quick solutions is essential to ensure your rights are preserved and that the process proceeds according to current legislation. Always remember to act cautiously and verify information through official channels before making any decisions related to your immigration status. In doing so, you contribute to making your immigration journey safe and proper.
