When it comes to Family Based visas in the United States, it is quite common to have doubts about the documentation required for each category. In the case of F3 and F4, there are indeed important differences, as each of these categories involves distinct family relationships and, consequently, requires specific proofs.

The F3 visa is intended for married children of U.S. citizens. In this process, the documents usually required include proof of the sponsor”s citizenship, birth certificates demonstrating the link between the citizen and the child, as well as the marriage certificate and, when necessary, other documents that attest to the authenticity of the marital relationship. It is crucial that all these documents are properly translated (if issued in another language) and authenticated according to the guidelines specified by the U.S. Department of State.

The F4 visa, on the other hand, is directed to brothers and sisters of U.S. citizens. For this category, in addition to proof of the sponsor”s citizenship, it is necessary to present documents that prove the sibling relationship – this generally includes birth certificates of both parties, showing the same biological parents (or, in some cases, the legal union of the parents, if applicable). In certain situations, additional materials may also be requested to convincingly demonstrate the truthfulness of this family tie.

Each category requires a specific set of evidence and it is fundamental to strictly comply with legal requirements. Following immigration rules is essential for the application to be processed correctly. Therefore, it is always advisable to consult official guidelines on the Department of State or U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) website, and if there are any doubts, to seek guidance from reliable sources to avoid scams or unfounded promises of quick results.

In summary, although both categories are part of U.S. citizens” families, F3 and F4 have distinct relationship verification requirements. Thus, understanding each stage and carefully preparing the documentation becomes essential for the success of the immigration process.
