Information related to United States Family-Based visas may seem complicated at first glance, but it is important to understand how categories and subcategories work for better guidance. F visas are intended for relatives of U.S. citizens and permanent residents, and they are organized into categories that determine the priority of processing.

In general, the F categories are identified as F1 through F4. However, category F2 has a particularity: it is divided into two distinct subcategories, called F2A and F2B. Thus, when adding these subdivisions, there is a total of five different subcategories, namely:
 • F1: Unmarried sons and daughters (21 years or older) of U.S. citizens;
 • F2A: Spouses and minor children of permanent residents;
 • F2B: Unmarried sons and daughters (21 years or older) of permanent residents;
 • F3: Married sons and daughters of U.S. citizens;
 • F4: Brothers and sisters of U.S. citizens, provided the citizen is at least 21 years old.

It is essential to follow immigration laws and seek guidance from reliable sources. Considering assistance from professionals or specialized companies-always taking care to avoid scams or guaranteed result promises-can be decisive for success in the immigration process. Remember that each case is unique, and respecting current regulations is essential for a safe and correct journey.

This explanation is intended only to inform about the structure of the F visas. For complete guidance on the process or to address particularities of your case, always seek safe and reliable sources.
