It is important to understand that ESTA and VWP are related but not the same thing. Both are part of the process that allows entry into the United States without a visa, but each has its specific role.

The VWP, or Visa Waiver Program, is a program that authorizes citizens of certain countries to travel to the United States for tourism or business for up to 90 days without needing to obtain a traditional visa. On the other hand, ESTA, which stands for Electronic System for Travel Authorization, is the electronic system through which travelers who qualify under the VWP request authorization to board.

In other words, while the VWP defines who can travel visa-free, ESTA is the mechanism that verifies and approves the eligibility of these travelers before their trip. Therefore, if you are a citizen of one of the VWP participating countries, it is mandatory to complete the ESTA form before boarding for the United States.

This process ensures that the traveler”s information is evaluated to identify security risks or other issues that could prevent entry into the country. It is worth emphasizing that having an approved ESTA authorization does not guarantee definitive entry, as the final decision is made by immigration authorities when the traveler arrives in the United States.

Following the US immigration laws and guidelines correctly is essential. It is recommended to consult official sources or specialized professionals and to avoid falling for scams or marketing campaigns that promise ease or quick results. Always seek information through official channels and stay updated on immigration regulations to ensure a safe trip in accordance with current legislation.
