In practice, it is not a renewal. The EB-5 first grants conditional residence and, at the end of the conditional period, the investor does not renew the visa: they file a petition to remove the conditions from their residence.

This step is a change of status, not a simple extension. To remove the conditions, the investor must demonstrate that the investment was maintained and that the program requirements, especially the creation or preservation of the required jobs, were fulfilled. Once the conditions are met, the investor obtains permanent residence without that restriction.

  • Residence begins as conditional and depends on subsequent proof.
  • At the end of the period, the condition is removed rather than renewing the visa.
  • The investor must show that the investment was maintained and the required jobs were created.

Since exact deadlines and requirements may change and are closely reviewed by the authorities, it is advisable to confirm the current rules through the official source or with a specialist, and to be wary of any guaranteed-outcome promises.
