Does the EB-5 give me priority to bring my parents or siblings?

The EB-5 grants a green card to the investor, the spouse, and children within the age limit, but not to parents or siblings. Bringing those relatives usually only becomes viable after naturalization.

No. The EB-5 extends the green card only to the investor’s immediate family: the spouse and unmarried children within the age limit established by the program. Parents and siblings are not included as dependents and receive no priority through the EB-5.

Bringing parents or siblings usually only becomes possible at a later stage, once the investor obtains the green card and then naturalizes as a U.S. citizen. Citizenship opens new family petition categories, but each one follows its own rules and waiting periods.

  • Parents: treated as immediate relatives of a U.S. citizen.
  • Siblings: fall into a category with generally longer waiting lines.
  • None of this is automatic or prioritized simply by holding the EB-5.

Since family immigration criteria and backlogs change over time, it is worth confirming the current rules at the official source (USCIS) and planning your family strategy with a specialist, without relying on shortcuts promised by third parties.
