My project has environmental and energy impact. Does that count as national interest?

In the EB-2 NIW, national interest involves demonstrating that your work brings substantial benefit to the country as a whole, not just to a single community or sector. Projects with environmental and energy impact can indeed fall under this concept.

Areas such as sustainability, energy efficiency, emissions reduction, and new energy sources often align with challenges that have national reach. The decisive point is being able to show, with evidence, that your project addresses a need that goes beyond the local level.

To support this argument, it helps to document:

• How the project benefits the country beyond a single region or isolated sector.

• Results, data, or recognition that demonstrate the impact.
