How to document that your professional experience is relevant to the national interest?

In the EB-2 NIW, you document the relevance of your experience to the national interest by showing, with concrete evidence, how your work already benefits (or has the potential to benefit) strategic areas or technological, scientific, and economic advances in the United States.

The goal is to build a body of proof that translates your experience into real impact. The following types of evidence often help:

• Publications, patents, awards, and other forms of recognition of your expertise.
• Letters from specialists that detail the impact and leadership of your work.
• Participation in relevant projects, partnerships with reputable institutions, or competitive funding.

More important than the quantity of documents is coherence: each piece of evidence should reinforce the narrative that your work has the merit and reach to benefit the country broadly.

Since each case is evaluated individually, organize your documentation clearly and honestly and, when in doubt, check the updated guidelines from USCIS or consult a specialist.
