Does the USCIS ‘disregard’ honorary titles without a real degree?

It is not a matter of the USCIS ‘disregarding’ an honorary title, but rather of giving more weight to formal documentation. In the EB-2 NIW, the evaluation values concrete evidence of education, experience, and achievements, and an honorary title alone does not substitute that proof.

An honorary title functions as a symbolic recognition and can even add value as further validation of your prestige. However, it does not play the role of a degree or objective evidence of competence, which is what truly supports eligibility.
