My title abroad was ‘project coordinator’, but I managed 10 people. Does that count as management?

The title of project coordinator does not, by itself, determine whether your role was managerial for EB-1 purposes. What matters is the actual content of your position: the responsibilities you genuinely carried out day to day.

Managing a team is a strong indicator of leadership and coordination. This argument becomes more compelling when you also played an active role in decision-making and directing the work, for example:

  • Making decisions and planning the team’s activities.
  • Setting guidelines and priorities.
  • Evaluating performance and developing team members.
  • Accountability for team or project results.

To demonstrate this, it is worth gathering documentation that describes your actual duties, such as reference letters, contracts, and detailed job descriptions that go beyond your title on the org chart.

Since each case is evaluated individually by USCIS, the best approach is to organize this evidence clearly and verify current requirements with the official source or a specialist before filing.
