I am citing a digital newspaper from my state capital. Does that count as national coverage?

In the EB-1, when press coverage is evaluated, what matters is the reach and recognition of the outlet, not simply the fact that you were mentioned. A digital newspaper tied to your state capital is typically read as regional media, not necessarily as something with national reach.

That does not eliminate the value of the article. Regional publications can be included in the process as part of a body of evidence, especially when they reinforce a trajectory already supported by other proof of visibility.

• Coverage in outlets with national or international reach.
• Recognition from more than one independent source about your work.
• Data that helps establish the actual reach of the publication that cited you.

The strength of the argument comes from the combination, not from a single mention. Since each case is evaluated individually, it is worth reviewing your materials with a specialist before filing.
