Not automatically. In the EB-1, each eligibility criterion is evaluated on its own, with specific supporting evidence. A salary well above market is a strong signal of recognition and can support the remuneration criterion, but it does not prove by itself that you held a critical or leading role in the organization.
These are different things: compensation speaks to how valued you are; the critical role criterion speaks to what you do and the strategic weight of your position. For the second, immigration officers look at other elements:
- The concrete impact of the responsibilities you took on.
- The strategic relevance of your position within the organization.
- How your work contributed to important projects or outcomes.
In other words, a high salary helps, but each criterion needs its own documentation, such as expert letters, publications, and other evidence that demonstrates excellence. Because the analysis is individual and considers the full picture, it is worth reviewing the updated requirements and building your petition with the support of a specialist.
