There is no single ‘best’: for physicians, EB-2 and EB-5 are very different pathways, and the right choice depends on each person’s profile, resources, and career goals.
EB-2 is a pathway based on professional qualifications. It covers professionals with an advanced academic degree or exceptional ability and, in certain cases, allows petitioning based on work of national importance without requiring a large capital investment. For many physicians with strong training and clinical experience, it tends to be the most direct route and the one most aligned with a professional career.
EB-5, on the other hand, is an investment pathway. What matters here is not professional qualifications but rather the ability to deploy substantial capital into a job-creating enterprise. It is open to physicians, but it typically makes sense for those who already intend to pursue the investment route.
In other words, neither is superior to the other: they are distinct doors. The best approach is to assess your own situation (education, resources, and plans) with a qualified specialist and to review updated requirements with the relevant authorities before making a decision.
