Does the recommendation letter author need a corporate email?

No. The EB-2 NIW does not have a formal requirement that the author of a recommendation letter use a corporate or institutional email address. The immigration authority imposes no rule on the type of sender address.

That said, an institutional email can strengthen the letter’s credibility, because it makes clear that the author is affiliated with a recognized organization or institution. It is a helpful detail, but not the deciding factor.

What truly matters in the review is the substance of the recommendation:

• Who the recommender is and what standing they have in the field.
• Their relationship to your work and what they can attest to.
• Clear contact information that allows for verification.
