I moved from sports to the arts. Am I still extraordinary?

In the EB-1, extraordinary ability is assessed by field of endeavor. Reaching the highest level in sports is a significant achievement, but that recognition does not transfer automatically when you move into the arts.

Each field has its own criteria and standards for recognizing excellence. When changing fields, you will need to regroup your evidence and demonstrate distinction specifically within your new artistic career.

• Gather achievements, awards, and recognitions tied to the arts.
• Show consistency and continuity in the new field, not just a starting point.
• When it makes sense, draw on the credibility you built before as part of your overall story.

If you already have a solid track record in the arts, your chances tend to be stronger; if your artistic career is recent, it may be worth building it further before filing. Consider reviewing the latest USCIS guidance or evaluating your profile with a qualified specialist.
